RAMBLE ON: GLADE NAMED ONE OF THE BEST SUNGLASSES BY OUTSIDE
Hey all, Tanner here (if this is your first time at the Lodge, check out our past ones here).
We’re thrilled to share that Outside Magazine just named the Glade Ramble one of The 16 Best Sunglasses for Every Outdoor Activity—awarding it the top spot for Best in Mixed Light. Their take? “They strike the sweet spot of good looks and functionality at the right price.” We love to hear it.
Outside put more than 80 pairs of sunglasses through their paces, testing them over a full year in every condition imaginable—from sun-drenched beach runs to snowy summit pushes. Among the standouts, the Glade Ramble impressed testers with its lightweight build, generous ventilation, and a subtle, low-key look that doesn’t scream ‘gearhead’.
REVEAL Lenses in motion down in New Zealand
These weren’t easy office tests either. Reviewers wore the Ramble while skiing Mount Shasta and on a weeklong ski touring trip through Norway’s rugged, light-shifting backcountry, where shadows stretch long and the sun plays tricks at all hours. It’s the kind of environment where photochromic lens technology is put to the ultimate test—and the Ramble delivered.
That’s a big deal for us, because photochromic tech is baked into the core of what we do at Glade. From the start, we’ve focused on optical performance in challenging, dynamic light. And while we’ve been lucky to earn nods from Freeskier, Blister, and Outside in the past, it’s always meaningful when that focus continues to get recognized.
Skiing, biking, running, walking a rowdy dog, the Rambles are a do-it-all pair
If you’ve read this blog before, you know the Ramble is my personal favorite. It’s the one I wear on just about every outing—skiing, running, biking, and everything in between. It’s light, versatile, and ready for whatever the day throws at it. Seeing it get this kind of recognition feels like fuel in the tank for us on the team.
Thanks again to the Outside crew for including us in this roundup—and for continuing to celebrate thoughtful, functional gear that actually works. If you’re into podcasts, check theirs out here: Outside Podcast, they've always got a wild adventure story or two on there. And if you’re headed to the Outside Festival and Summit in Denver next week, come find me!
I won't be at a Glade booth or anything. Just hopefully as close as possible to the Khruangbin stage. Look for the Black/Grey Rambles.
We'll see you out there,
- Tanner
