INSIDE BLISTER SUMMIT: A WEEK IN CRESTED BUTTE WITH GLADE

Our Head of Product Stefan Stahl talking about the latest in lens tech

Hey all, Tanner here (if this is your first time at the Lodge, check out our past ones here).

Recently, the entire Glade crew rolled into Crested Butte for the 2025 Blister Summit—goggles, skis, and high stoke in tow. And if you haven’t been, the Blister Summit is basically a week-long mountain town fever dream: nonstop gear testing, pros you've watched on YouTube left and right, cool new industry insights, and some dang good spring skiing.

We held it down at our booth all week, demoing the full Glade lineup to a steady stream of skiers, boarders, and fellow gearheads. We also got to test out the latest equipment from other brands—carefully, of course. Crested Butte’s infamous rocky terrain definitely kept us on our toes (and made us very grateful for the laissez faire demo waivers).

Conditions were ideal for putting our gear through its paces. Dark clouds rolled in and out all week, shifting the light constantly and giving our REVEAL™ Photochromic lenses a chance to shine. One minute you're carving under storm clouds, the next you're riding in full sun. It was the kind of variability we design for—and it didn’t disappoint.

Beyond the booth, our team was all over the mountain—skiing with Glade fans, linking up for early riser backcountry tours, and giving lessons on how to properly execute a spread eagle. Turns out that move still has range.

We were especially pumped to connect with the local crew, including a Crested Butte legend who clocked over 90 days last season in the same pair of Fathoms. Not only were they still intact—they looked ready for 90 more.

Midweek, we sat on a panel about the future of lens tech with other folks at the forefront of snow optics. We got into VLT, fog-fighting coatings, and what’s coming down the pipeline. Another brand even tossed out the idea of augmented reality ski goggles—so yeah, the future's going to be wild.

But in all seriousness, the week reminded us why we build what we build. It’s not just about anti-fog coatings or toric lens curves—it’s about the moments those tools enable. Like linking turns with someone who’s been following our brand since the garage days, or swapping stories with fellow gear junkies after last chair. We left Crested Butte tired, happy, and more inspired than ever.

Huge thanks to the Blister crew for putting on one hell of a summit. We’ll be back next year—with even more gear, more ideas, and probably a few more spread eagles.
