IN PURSUIT OF SUMMER: GLADE STAFF SHARE THEIR FAVORITE WARM-WEATHER PASSIONS
Hey all, Tanner here (if this is your first time at the Lodge, check out our past ones here).
At Glade, we believe the pursuit never stops—whether the mountains are covered in snow or roasting in summer sun. That’s why we created Glade Pursuit, a way to define the three pillars of our warm-weather passions: Ride, Run, and Reel. From dusty switchbacks to alpine lakes, these pursuits drive us all season long.
So, we asked a few Glade team members (and one close friend) how they’re spending their time outside this summer—and, of course, which sunglasses they won’t hit the trail or river without.
RIDE: Mountain Biking, Gravel, and Road Cycling
For Curt, Stef, and Drew, summer means saddle time.
Curt keeps it flexible—riding wherever and whenever he can squeeze it in. His go-to gear? The Ramble Speed in Matte Navy with REVEAL™ Photochromic Blue lenses. “They’re lightweight, ventilated, and adjust perfectly as I move between sun and shade,” he says.
Stef is based in Carbondale, where big Elks Range rides keep his legs pumping and stoke high. He swears by the Stash in Matte Black with REVEAL™ Photochromic Grey lenses for the variable conditions and fast descents.
Up north in Steamboat, Drew mixes it up with gravel missions over remote fire road passes and rowdy downhill on his enduro rig. He’s repping the Stash in Matte Buck with REVEAL™ Photochromic Red lenses—our boldest hue for those high-alpine views.
Best sunglasses for mountain biking? These three would say the Stash or Ramble Speed, hands down. Whether you’re chasing KOMs or just chasing the sun, our MTB sunglasses recommendations start here.
I'm awful at remembering to take photos. But, here's a classic First Flatiron photo.
RUN: Trail Running
Me? I'm a trail runner through and through. Though I once flirted with the idea of going ultra, these days I'm more into running and soloing in the Flatirons near my home outside of Boulder.
I like to keep things simple. My favorite running shades? TheRamble in Matte Black with REVEAL™ Photochromic Grey lenses. Lightweight, no-slip, and made for movement. Plus, I'm just weirdly an all black guy, so they fit the vibe.
Looking for the best sunglasses for trail running? My pick offers all-day clarity and comfort, no matter how many switchbacks you’re logging.
REEL: Fly Fishing
Big friend of Glade KC Badger finds peace on the river, fly fishing for trout across the country's famed waters. His choice for riverside clarity? The Freestone in Matte Tortoise with Polarized REVEAL™ Photochromic Brown lenses.
The polarized lenses cut glare on the water, making them the best polarized sunglasses for fishing—perfect for spotting movement just below the surface.
Wherever your summer takes you—into the forest, onto the trail, or knee-deep in the river—the right eyewear makes all the difference. Explore our full sunglasses for outdoor sports collection and find your Pursuit.
We'll see you out there,
